Position Title: Plant Operator (Lab Technician) Location: Marinette, WI Shift: 1st shift The Lab Analyst/Technician provides analytical and technical support for the production and certification of gas cylinders. This position is primarily responsible for the certification of gas standards in compliance with customer requirements, government regulations, and the Airgas standard operating procedures. In particular, you will: Performs cylinder analyses & ensures compliance government and company standards. o Calculates to gas mixtures to meet requirements and documents results. Ensures that a mixture can be safely made. o Selects cylinders and valve combinations to ensure compatibility with the mix and compliance. o Performs analyses of gas mixtures to find discrepancies and compare with Airgas specifications. o Operates control panels, containing valves and pressure gauges, and scales to accurately measure gas mixtures. Provides customers with the highest level of service by ensuring that all special product requests are met. Understands hazards of various gases; size and contents of cylinders by reading and interpreting cylinder labels and the color- coding tanks. Accurately label cylinders. Rolls cylinders and operate a forklift truck for the movement of cylinders on pallets. Handles high-pressure, medical and liquid cylinders. Prepares high pressure cylinders and cryogenic vessels for filling, Completes all necessary documentation to accurately record all production actions. Sort empty cylinders Supports all safety standards in the production of cylinder gases including assisting with internal audits. Complies with company procedures and government regulations relating to the safe handling of hazardous materials. Performs other duties as assigned. ________________________ Are you a MATCH? High school degree or GED required Prior experience utilizing SAP or similar ERP system preferred Intermediate knowledge of Google Suite or Microsoft Office applications. Strong analytical skills and a thorough understanding of how to leverage metrics and related tools to improve production efficiency and effectiveness. Mechanical aptitude Demonstrated knowledge of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratios, and percent. Will be required to move / transport materials weighing up to 60 pounds and move up to 125 pounds with the aid of material handling equipment which may require frequent bending, twisting and reaching motions. Requires both indoor & outdoor environments in various seasonal weather conditions. Must be able to work in temperatures ranging from -10 to over 100 degrees.
