Job Description: Practice: At Northwoods Animal Hospital, we strive to offer sound advice and optimal veterinary care. We provide a broad spectrum of diagnostic procedures through in-house testing and the use of external laboratories. The facility includes a well-stocked pharmacy, in-hospital surgery suite, in-house X-ray capabilities, ultrasound, ECG, blood pressure monitoring, a closely supervised hospitalization area, and indoor boarding kennels with outdoor walking areas and grooming services.Position Purpose: What a unique opportunity - to work in a beautiful practice and live in a stunning location. We are a 4-doctor practice utilizing multiple Certified Veterinary Technicians and veterinary assistants to serve our busy practices in three locations. Our growing, small animal practice is fortunate to support services at our primary facility in Minocqua and satellite offices in Manitowish Waters and Eagle River. Although our specialty is companion animals, we are the sponsoring veterinary practice for the Northwoods Wildlife Center so that we have opportunities to see the occasional fox, deer, or owl. There's never a dull moment here! We enjoy a beautiful work environment that allows us to prioritize providing high-quality care. Our staff is very friendly, collaborative, and considerate, and our practice is well-equipped, which allows us to treat patients with best-in-class medicine and perform surgeries, including orthopedics and dental procedures. We welcome doctors of all levels of experience, ideally with an interest in client communication, surgery, and dentistry. Full and part-time positions available. About life in Minocqua: The scenic Minocqua area is in Northern Wisconsin's Lake Country. Here, thousands of lakes, rivers, and streams literally saturate the geography. Vacationers have long visited Minocqua to enjoy boating, swimming, fishing, snowmobiling, hiking, bike trails, and more. With a sound school system and lower housing costs, this area is calling your name!Essential Responsibilities:Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples as well as interpret results.Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.Provide counsel around pet end of life care.Maintain patients' medical records.Ensures compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statues, policies, and procedures.Requirements/Qualifications:Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an accredited AVMA institution.Appropriate state licensure.Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients.Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.Benefits Offered:Competitive Compensation - All salary ranges are negotiable based on experienceUnlimited personal timeBonus incentivesHealth insurance; dental insurance; vision insuranceRetirement benefits (401(k), Roth(k) with match)CE and licensure reimbursement Flexible work schedulesManaging career path developmentEmployee Assistance ProgramDVM Referral ProgramMental Health ResourcesRelocation assistance available
