Scheduled Hours 40 Position Summary This position is for a laboratory animal veterinarian who can provide preventative, emergency and clinical veterinary medical care for the wide variety of laboratory animal species used in the Washington University research program. Other responsibilities include assisting with training, interaction with the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee, and helping the University maintain regulatory compliance. Join our staff of 9 veterinarians in providing laboratory animal medical services for the research staff at Washington Universitys AAALAC-accredited program. The Division of Comparative Medicine (DCM) is engaged in an exciting growth phase having recently occupied a new $616M neuroscience research facility with a state-of-the-art vertical vivarium design and the capacity to hold over 30,000 cages of rodents. Additionally, our entire biomedical research program continues to grow in size and funding for support of our existing programs in large animal, non-human primate, rodent medicine, surgery, model development, and laboratory diagnostics. Regulatory Compliance, protocol review and IACUC participation. Consults with investigators regarding animal models. Other duties as assigned.
