Overview:

Our Family Vet has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced small or mixed animal veterinarian to join our growing team in Kilgore, TX. This position offers a generous signing bonus package, six figure base salary plus production. This role is Monday-Friday only, no weekends!

About the Position

Our Family Vet is looking for an experienced small animal Veterinarian to help grow our thriving practice! The ideal candidate will have some hands on experience, be personable and a team player. This role has a great working hours: NO weekends, closed over lunch and last appointments are seen at 4:30pm!

About the Hospital

We offer a unique blend of small animal, farm animal, and equine services. Equine services include: equine MRI, elective and emergency surgery, reproductive care, dental care, lab services, colic treatment and more. Small animal services offered include wellness care, nutrition and diagnostic work, surgery/dental care, nutrition and end of life care. ?The majority of the current case load is small animal.

Responsibilities:
  • Examine animals to assess their health and diagnose problems
  • Treat and dress wounds
  • Perform surgery on animals
  • Test for and vaccinate against diseases
  • Operate medical equipment, such as x-ray machines
  • Advise animal owners about general care, medical conditions, and treatments
  • Prescribe medication
  • Work closely in collaboration with team members to provide high quality care
Qualifications:
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree required
  • Licensure in the state/s candidate will be working
  • Ability to show compassion to both pets and their owners
  • Outstanding dexterity in handling animals while performing precise tasks
  • Ability to react quickly and make decisions under pressure about the wellbeing of an animal
  • Strong fondness and understanding of animals
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of animal behavior
  • Ability to use medical technologies during diagnosis, research and surgery of animals
