Our Family Vet?has an exciting opportunity to join our?thriving practices in Bullard and Jacksonville, TX! This position offers a six figure salary plus production, a generous bonus package, strategic mentoring program, paid family leave and student loan support.

About the Position

Our Family Vet is a great atmosphere to make the transition from academic training into real clinical settings or bring your expertise to help lead us to the future. Work schedule involves 4-day weeks, with the option to work weekend/holiday hours. This multi-practice hospital group treats approximately 90% small animals, and 10% mixed animals (mainly small ruminants). This is an excellent opportunity to work along side a talented surgeon!

About the Team

Our Family Vet has been proudly serving the surrounding communities for over 20 years. We have a tenured support staff team with very little turnover. We work as a team to ensure the human-animal bond is protected while practicing high quality medicine.

Responsibilities:
  • Examine animals to assess their health and diagnose problems
  • Treat and dress wounds
  • Perform surgery on animals
  • Test for and vaccinate against diseases
  • Operate medical equipment, such as x-ray machines
  • Advise animal owners about general care, medical conditions, and treatments
  • Prescribe medication
  • Work closely in collaboration with team members to provide high quality care
Qualifications:
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree required
  • Licensure in the state/s candidate will be working
  • Ability to show compassion to both pets and their owners
  • Outstanding dexterity in handling animals while performing precise tasks
  • Ability to react quickly and make decisions under pressure about the wellbeing of an animal
  • Strong fondness and understanding of animals
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of animal behavior
  • Ability to use medical technologies during diagnosis, research and surgery of animals
