We are a close-knit team that work together collaboratively inside of the Hope Mobile RV and inside our partnered hospitals that we are stationed at around the Greater Puget Sound. We are looking for a compassionate, highly motivated, and enthusiastic, Part-Time Veterinary Assistant to join our team with the ability to work out of Gig Harbor and Poulsbo. Working as Our Part-Time Veterinary Assistant: Our ideal Part-Time Veterinary Assistant will genuinely enjoy working with animals, approach their job in a professional manner, and be able to work well under emotional and stressful situations. They will have a positive attitude, be comfortable working in close proximity with their team members and have a humble approach to getting daily work done. Our team is punctual and friendly, and takes initiative, and we are looking for someone that will match our energy! Typical Schedule: Typically about 20 hours per week, Tuesdays in Gig Harbor and Thursdays in Poulsbo.

Compensation: The hourly rate for this position is expected to be $20.00 – $24.00/hour. We offer paid sick leave, 401k, and frequently enjoy French fries and chips together!

Highlight of Job Duties for Our Part-Time Veterinary Assistant: Checking patients in and out, including getting medical history from owners, and scheduling new appointments. Assisting LVT and Doctors with in-house labs, performing TPR, blood pressure checks, and assisting with sedation and biopsy collection. Assisting with venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and administering chemotherapy. Assisting in restraint, in-house imaging diagnostics including radiographs and ultrasounds. Help with answering calls, responding to emails, filling prescriptions, restocking supplies. Prepare invoices and medical records for future visits, including gathering records and writing up patient histories. Assisting with running anesthesia and helping during surgeries.

Minimum Requirements for Our Veterinary Assistant: 18 years or older. Ability to regularly lift 50+ lbs. Valid Driver's License/Able to commute to areas around WA that we serve. Familiar with medical terminology and familiarity of veterinary pharmacology.

Preferred Requirements for Our Part-Time Veterinary Assistant: 1-year related experienceDesire to earn Veterinary Assistant Certification. 1-year in specialty practice; oncology a plus!
