Riverside Animal Hospital is growing and seeking a veterinary assistant to join our clinic family! We are currently a one-doctor, appointment-only practice. We do not have overnight shifts or on-call hours. Our patient roster includes companion pets, pocket pets, and some exotics. Full-time and part-time hours are available.

Veterinary Assistant Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Obtain client information patient medical history
- Bring animals back to the exam room and perform an initial evaluation
- Perform diagnostics, digital radiographs, in-house and reference laboratory (IDEXX)
- Assist in holding and restraining animals during exams and surgical procedures
- Clean and sterilize instruments, equipment, and tools
- Ensure exam rooms are stocked and sterilized
- Change animal bandages, bedding, and kennel materials
- Ensure all cages and kennels are clean
- Administer medications
- Assist in collecting samples such as blood or urine for testing
- Communicate with owners and families on instructions
- Perform administrative duties such as updating files and processing payments
Veterinary Assistant Qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience in animal care or in a clinic preferred
- Able to communicate clearly with clients and staff
- Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
- Basic understanding of animal behavior and health care
- Passion for working with animals and their owners
- Attention to detail in order to maintain accurate patient records
- Physical ability to restrain larger pets when necessary
