South Windsor Veterinary Clinic is a small animal general practice located in South Windsor, CT. The practice itself has been well established for over 20 years in the community, and we pride ourselves on a small town-homey feel that is extremely family oriented not only for our clients but our staff as well. Our typical day consists of seeing a mix of both sick and wellness appointments, as well as surgery days for dentals and routine surgeries. Veterinary Assistant

$17.00-$19.00 an hour
WHAT YOU'LL DO
* Demonstrate excellent customer service with clients via phone and in-person
* Answers telephone calls quickly, efficiently, and in a professional and friendly manner using a multi-line system
* Warmly greets clients
* Prepares patient files
* Receives and relays client correspondence and updates client financial records
* Answers client's inquiries about basic animal care questions and routine procedures
* Educates clients, answer general questions about treatments, laboratory tests, and explaining administration of medications
* Admits patients and handles medical records entries accurately
* Prepares client invoices for services performed
* Handles payment transactions
* Receives and relays telephone, fax, and email messages accurately and promptly
* Executing treatment orders
* Keeping cages clean and sanitized
* Walking, feeding and picking up after patients
* Various housekeeping duties (laundry, dishes, mopping, taking out garbage etc.)
* Restraining animals
* Collecting urine samples
* Run in-house labs
* Taking radiographs
* Performing blood draws
* Filling prescribed medications

REQUIREMENTS
* 1 plus year veterinary experience or education
* Team-oriented
* Ability to multi-task
* Ability to lift 50 pounds
