VCA Katonah Bedford Veterinary Center is seeking an ER Liaison to join our Team! VCA Katonah Bedford is a hybrid hospital! Board-certified doctors lead every department, and we offer multiple advanced diagnostic and treatment modalities such as CT.
What is an ER liaison? An ER Liaison is the contact person who helps bridge the communication connection between the doctor and the client. The ER Liaison will work in tandem with the senior emergency doctor as needed to ensure that patients are seen in a timely manner as well as maintaining a direct line of communication between the owner and the doctor. The liaison will assure a smooth transition from phone call, through patient arrival, triage, treatment and discharge processes. Their duties will include keeping the owner informed during every step, as well as maintaining communications with the front desk, technicians, emergency doctors and primary veterinarian as needed. The liaison will triage incoming phone calls as needed and provide a point of contact for pet owners. They will also give owners progress reports, fill prescriptions and assist with owners visiting their pets. They will answer phone calls for emergency doctor if unavailable, and help relay information to pet owners calling for advice or about their hospitalized pets. They may return phone calls as instructed by emergency clinician after getting appropriate information. At VCA Katonah Bedford, you can be the ER Liaison you have always wanted to be!
