Schedule:- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 8am - 6pm.

Primary Responsibilities:- Obtain patient vitals and report any abnormalities to a Licensed Veterinary Technician and/or Veterinarian(s).
- Collecting diagnostic samples, imaging, and non-laboratory diagnostics (BP, EKG, SPO2) for analysis while understanding normal parameter markers to help facilitate in next steps of diagnostic preparation and communication to Licensed Veterinary Technicians and/or Veterinarian(s).
- Assist in placement and maintenance of intravenous catheters.
- Assist Licensed Veterinary Technicians and/or Veterinarians in all aspects during chemotherapy administration and procedures from developing anesthetic protocol, administration of pre-medications and induction agents, intubation, surgical prep, maintenance and monitoring of general anesthesia, assist in surgical procedure as needed, recovery care of patients post anesthetic episodes, proper medical documentation of anesthesia monitoring, and understanding side effects of anesthetic agents being administered.
- Assist in induction and sedation of patients with a Licensed Veterinary Technician and/or Veterinarian(S)
- Setup, Assist, and Clean up following all daily procedures and operations such as biopsies, CT, Tube Placements, and other diagnostic/anesthetic procedures, while also understanding the proper materials and equipment needed for each procedure.
- Restraining patients accurately and safely for diagnostic imaging, such as but not limited to, direct digital radiology, ultrasonography, and venipuncture.
- Assist in the collection and proper handling of certain samples such as biopsies, and how to submit them to outside laboratories.
- Assist in the conduction of appointments whether new patients or recheck appointments and understanding the process of the appointments and the difference between the two types.
- Practice professional and empathetic communication.
- Properly discharge patients by filling all required medications, ensuring patients are clean and comfortable, removing intravenous catheters, approving final invoices, and reviewing discharges with pet owners.
- Communication between clients and other team members when obtaining and relaying medical histories in a professional, medical manner, with proper medical terminology.
- Help to restock supplies throughout the day to ensure proficiencies and efficiencies.
- Assist in weekly inventory checks and notifying inventory manager of items that need replenishing.
- Able to understand and function within the electronic practice management software to locate and pull previous medical records and to start initial records for each appointment.
- Understanding and able to perform proper medical record documentation in accordance with hospital policy and the board of veterinary medical standards.
- Conducting yourself in a professional manner each shift while providing continued support to your team members, patients, and clients.
- Following proper OSHA protocols and ensure OSHA related trainings are conducted by designated timelines to ensure a safe work environment for yourself and team members.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to work in a team environment by taking direction and assisting other medical team members.
- Exemplifies a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
