Reva McClurg Medical Center /SPCA Florida is a community-focused multi-doctor practice. Last year, 15,905 pets received the highest level of care from our state-of-the-art hospital with equipment that includes digital radiology, a full-service in-house IDEXX lab, laser therapy, ultrasonography, and digital dental radiology just to name a few.We are looking for someone who not only loves dogs and cats but is focused on providing excellent client communication and is committed to delivering the best possible care to the animals of our community.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Experience: - Preferred: CVT Graduate from AVMA accredited program and/or equivalent experience as a veterinary technician.
- General anesthesia including pre-anesthetic/induction protocols, intubation, and proper preparation, use, and maintenance of anesthesia machines, analgesic protocols including the calculation and administration of CRIs, monitoring of anesthesia during surgery, and being responsible for anesthetic recovery.
- Prior experience with surgical pets and pet owners is a plus - ie regarding owner communication, patient admission, and discharge, assisting with surgical reports, and use of Avimark, Reva McClurg Medical Center /SPCA Florida's practice management software.
- Preparation of patients for surgery - proper clipping, prep/scrub, and positioning
- Proficient in sterile gowning and gloving, comfortable everyday experience with surgical asepsis and aseptic technique regarding the patient and operating room environment.
- Experienced in taking radiographs,
- The ideal candidate is a confident team player who is excited to advance their surgical/medical knowledge and is willing to provide input and ideas based on knowledge and prior experience.
- Must be able to lift patients/equipment up to 50 pounds with assistance.
- As a benefit, the CVA online program is offered at no cost to the team member, if not a CVT. CVA must be attained within 6 months of hire if the candidate is not CVT.
