Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver Compassionate Care: Assist in various procedures including physical exams, surgeries, dental cleanings, immunizations, and euthanasia, ensuring each patient is treated with kindness and respect.
  • Exceed Client Expectations: Provide excellent customer service by educating pet parents on preventive care, treatments, and products, helping them make informed decisions for their pets.
  • Support Team Collaboration: Prepare patients for surgery, monitor anesthesia, and assist in procedures while working closely with your team to ensure smooth, efficient operations.
  • Empower Through Knowledge: Administer medications, perform lab tests, and use diagnostic equipment while staying updated on the latest veterinary innovations. Do everything within your license, including drug calculations and unblocking cats. Share your knowledge with clients and fellow team members.
  • Be a Community Advocate: Participate in educational outreach and service initiatives that positively impact our local community, promoting animal health and welfare.

Physical Requirements

  • Active Role: This position requires standing, bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and working on your feet for long periods.
  • Animal Handler: You'll frequently handle pets of various sizes and temperaments, with help from the team for larger or more difficult animals.

Work EnvironmentThe fast-paced environment of North Penn Animal Hospital requires adherence to safety protocols and regulations, including compliance with OSHA, DEA, and state animal health laws. You'll work in close contact with animals, handling everything from routine care to emergencies, all while maintaining a calm, professional demeanor.
