The Veterinary Technician Manager is an essential member of our team and must have experience in successfully leading a team of people in real time, while ensuring an exceptional patient and client experience. The role will work closely with senior management with a heavy focus on employee development and exceptional patient care.Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Oversees technicians who have direct patient care responsibilities.
- Conducts team member annual performance reviews, coaching, disciplinary action and terminations.
- Maintains any/all equipment.
- Is responsible for orienting and training new staff.
- Is responsible for assisting in identifying development opportunities, needs, and goals within the team.
- Monitors workload of functional area team members, identifying high and low periods, and making operational or staffing adjustments as needed.
- Works with the leadership team to develop and execute changes and updates to policies and procedures as needed.
- Serves as a working manager by actively performing services as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Associates or Bachelor's Degree in related field, preferred.
- Minimum 4 years' veterinary technician experience required.
- Credentialed Veterinary Technician, preferred.
- Veterinary practice leadership experience strongly preferred.
- Work 3rd shift and one weekend shift per week and some holidays.
- Strong interpersonal skills and communication; ability to influence and articulate a variety of issues to different audiences, tailoring messages accordingly.
- Proficient time management, ability to problem solve, learn, and handle multiple tasks.
- Enthusiastic team player with a patient, and positive professional attitude.
- Must be able to physically work the duties of a veterinary technician as any given time.
