The Opportunity
Pepperdine University seeks an accomplished and strategic fundraising leader to assume the role of Vice Chancellor for Parent and Family Development. Pepperdine's mission to strengthen lives for purpose, service, and leadership depends on strong financial support from donors to provide the facilities, programs, faculty, and opportunities necessary to provide stellar, mission-driven programs for students.
The Vice Chancellor for Parent and Family Development will play an integral role in achieving the mission by building prospect and donor relationships, raising financial support, and increasing the donor base within Pepperdine's parent and family network. This position focuses primarily on major and principal gift donors with capacity to make gifts of $25K to $5M. The Vice Chancellor will identify and cultivate Pepperdine University's current parents, develop relationships that lead to generosity, and manage the involvement of other administrators, faculty, alumni, and volunteers in the process.
The successful candidate will have the ability to integrate Christian faith into conversations with parents and donors; possess a personal commitment to Jesus Christ; be actively involved in a church body; be personally invested in a worldview grounded in and informed by Christian theology, with a proven commitment to supporting the Christian mission of the University. There is a strong preference for candidates who have shown success in fundraising at a major and/or principal gift level in higher education or another nonprofit environment. Experience working with parents and boards is also preferred. This position requires regular travel.

A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree and 7+ years professional experience in fundraising, sales, or related profession. A preference for 10+ years of success in fundraising at a major and/or principal gift level in higher education or another nonprofit environment.

A stunning 830-acre Malibu campus overlooks the Pacific Ocean and is just 29 miles from Downtown Los Angeles.
