Job Description:

At NorthBay Health, the Vice President of Ancillary Services is a key member of the leadership team, responsible for overseeing and managing the strategic direction, operational performance, and finances of ancillary services across the health system. This includes leadership over diagnostic and therapeutic services such as radiology/imaging, laboratory, and pharmacy, as well as the systems for-profit imaging center. Oversight of all imaging modalities of radiology services, including diagnostic imaging, ultrasound, CT scan, nuclear medicine, MRI, PETCT, bone density, and mammography, along with the Imaging PACS/RIS system. Laboratory and Pathology services at both hospitals and all outpatient laboratory draw stations. Acute care and specialty pharmacy. The VP ensures these departments provide exceptional care, operate efficiently, and meet all quality and regulatory standards.

This position collaborates closely with clinical and administrative leaders to optimize service delivery, enhance patient experience, and drive continuous improvement across all ancillary departments. Some key departments include Ambulatory Services, Information Systems, Finance, Purchasing, Human Resources, Managed Care, Marketing, Medical Records, Quality Improvement, Risk Management, Nursing, and Coding Compliance. The VP will plan and implement improvements that allow areas of responsibility to perform more effectively and efficiently, leveraging technology advancements when appropriate. Responsible for ensuring proper staffing and delegating duties to departmental direct reports while promoting a positive and professional work environment within its growing service line.

The VP will oversee all elements of ancillary regulatory licensing, compliance, equipment, and construction for both current and future expansion of ancillary services. This includes compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations of federal and state statutes, including but not limited to Medicare Rules of Participation, California Department of Public Health (CDPH), Joint Commission (TJC), California Department of Health Care Access and Information (HCAI), and Board of Pharmacy.

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field required. Master's in a health-related field required.
  • Licensure/Certifications: Current License in one of the ancillary departments (e.g., Radiology, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, Clinical Lab Scientist, Pharmacist) preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare operations and management, with a focus in at least one of the ancillary services.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements, quality standards, and the accreditation process within healthcare. Proven track record of managing complex departments, improving operational performance, and leading strategic initiatives. Experience in managing outpatient imaging with a focus on operational and financial growth. Exceptional leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments and levels of the organization. Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently. Results-oriented style. Excellent interpersonal, judgment, and problem-solving skills.

  • Compensation: $300 - 320K, based on experience. Position is eligible to participate in the Management Variable Compensation bonus program, with a potential bonus at 35% of annual salary.
