The Gas Phase Division (GPD) is the market leader in Gas Chromatography (GC) and Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (GC/MS) market and serves as the cornerstone of the $1.3 billion Applied Markets Group (AMG). GPD develops and markets innovative GC and GC/MS solutions, designed-in consumables, smart, connected software capabilities, and applications. These technologies serve a diverse range of global customers across markets such as Energy & Chemical, Advanced Material, Environmental, Food, Pharmaceutical, and Forensics, supporting every stage of their value chain-from research and development to manufacturing and quality control.
Position Overview
Reporting to the President of the Applied Markets Group (AMG), the Vice President and General Manager of GPD will lead this pivotal business with full P&L accountability, driving innovation and delivering exceptional customer experiences. This leader will define transformative strategies, foster a growth mindset across teams, and ensure operational excellence to maintain GPD's position as the cornerstone of AMG's success.
A critical aspect of this role is building and advancing organizational capabilities to ensure sustainable, transformational growth for the team of more than 100 employees mainly located in the United States China and Europe. This includes fostering a progressive, future-ready culture that embraces innovation and agility while nurturing a robust leadership pipeline to meet evolving business needs.
As a key member of the AMG executive leadership team, this individual will collaborate across Agilent's ecosystem to deliver solutions that exceed customer expectations while unlocking new market opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
* Strategic Leadership: Define and execute a bold vision and multi-year strategic roadmap to drive growth, profitability, and market leadership in GC and GC/MS technologies.
* Innovation and Customer-Centricity: Champion customer needs by aligning product innovation, service excellence, and operational agility to deliver world-class solutions and experiences.
* P&L Management: Oversee all aspects of GPD's business performance, ensuring alignment with financial objectives and delivering sustained value for stakeholders.

Qualifications
Position Requirements and Experience
* Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or a related field; an advanced degree or MBA is strongly preferred.
* 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in Product Marketing, R&D, Order Fulfillment, or Business Development, with senior management experience preferred.
* Proven success in managing P&L responsibilities and scaling businesses while driving innovation and growth.
* Demonstrated ability to lead geographically dispersed teams and engage with global customers and partners effectively.
* Strong financial acumen and analytical capabilities, with a focus on delivering shareholder value.
* Track record of fostering collaboration and building high-trust relationships across diverse, matrixed organizations.
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to engage with internal and external executive stakeholders.
* High emotional intelligence, decisiveness, and adaptability in complex, fast-paced environments.

The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $271,200.00 - $423,750.00/yr plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
