High Plains Farm Credit, ACA The Farm Credit System is a unique entity, a network of nationally connected, locally owned financial cooperatives. Since 1916, Farm Credit has been devoted to agricultural financing and is the largest single provider of agricultural credit in the United States. High Plains Farm Credit is a member of the Farm Credit System and services over $1.9 billion loan assets. High Plains Farm Credit's vision is to be the preferred source of agricultural financing. High Plains Farm Credit also serves as the administrator of the Farm Credit Capital Group, a consortium of 16 Farm Credit System entities ($20BN+ in combined assets) which focuses on purchasing senior secured debt in the corporate food/ag, energy infrastructure, and telecommunications sectors. POSITION PURPOSE High Plains Farm Credit is currently recruiting a Vice President - Credit, Capital Markets to support the SVP - Capital Markets in leading and administering the HPFC Capital Markets department. The VP-Credit will engage with senior credit facilities in the large corporate food, telecommunications and/or energy infrastructure sectors, with an emphasis on both existing portfolio management as well as new business development. This position will also track and manage underwriting workflow, credit underwriting and narrative review, and provide guidance to ensure policies and procedures are established and followed.Lending, Credit and/or Syndications experience in a Farm Credit System Capital Markets group preferred. JOB FUNCTIONS
- Supervise, train and lead the Capital Markets Credit team.
- Develop and maintain relationships with various Agent/Origination lending partners, including other Farm Credit institutions, commercial banks, and non-traditional lenders.
- Occasionally attend lender meetings and other investor events on behalf of High Plains FC; modest travel is a requirement.
- Recommend and support credit requests to Executive Credit Committee for approval.
- Track and manage underwriting workflow.
- Create and/or review loan narratives and servicing memos to ensure appropriateness and accuracy.
- Coordinate loan closings and fundings with the Capital Markets Operations group.
QUALIFYING CHARACTERISTICS
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field.
- Corporate food and agriculture lending experience required. Prior experience in a Farm Credit System capital markets group preferred.
- Modest travel flexibility required; estimated at 1-3 short trips per quarter.
- Knowledge of credit principals, macro-economic trends, common lending practices, and agricultural markets required.
