General Manager, Nucleic Acid Solutions Division - DGG

Agilent's Nucleic Acid Solutions Division (NASD) is recognized as a leader in Oligonucleotide Development and Manufacturing of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients. With manufacturing of API at both the Boulder and Frederick Colorado sites and supporting over 40 active clients, the Nucleic Acid Solutions Division partners with biopharma and pharmaceutical companies to support the development of clinical or commercial API needs.

Reporting to the Vice President and General Manager of the Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) business unit, the NASD General Manager will have operating and budgetary responsibility for site operations in Boulder and Frederick Colorado. With a focus on site operations, you will be accountable for leading site strategy, executing operational goals, delivering profitable revenue growth and operating profit, while managing a diverse organization. The successful candidate will be a key member of the CDMO business unit executive leadership team (ELT), will work to advance the NASD business plan and play an important part in improving the human condition by bringing oligonucleotide medicine to clients and eventually patients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • P&L responsibility for the site operating budget for NASD/Colorado locations
  • Define, advance, and execute key strategies and initiatives for NASD/Colorado locations.
  • Build organizational capabilities; attract, retain, and develop talented leaders and team members for the overall organization.
  • Deliver results; align on the key financial and business deliverables with stakeholders and consistently meet these deliverables on the timelines agreed to.
  • Responsible for oversight of day-to-day site operations with a hands-on approach to drive teamwork, critical thinking, and results.
  • Work closely with Senior Workplace Services (WPS), IT and Quality leadership to ensure site compliance, quality and safety guidance is maintained.
  • Responsible for product development oversight and the timely execution of process development, method development and overall program onboarding.
  • Focus on driving operational excellence to improve efficiencies and exceed client needs.
  • Continuously seeks new or improved site performance and client satisfaction through product, technology, and service innovation.
  • Focus on NASD employee culture and Agilent values to drive customer value.
  • Maintain customer trust through delivering superior compliance and regulatory performance.
Qualifications

Key position requirements include:

  • Domain knowledge, understanding of technologies, science and relevant market dynamics for the NASD market, specifically Oligonucleotide manufacturing and development technologies.
  • Proven P&L leadership experience of a business and/or commercial function.
  • Strategic and execution ability; managing operating budgets.
  • Experience in developing and executing critical goals to ensure top and bottom-line objectives are met.
  • Knowledge and experience in developing, launching, and managing complex products.
  • Meaningful knowledge and established senior level relationships with organizations and individuals that are likely to be customers and partners for NASD.
  • Proven ability to effectively engage, interact with, influence, and retain the confidence of senior executives and peers.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead leaders with a critical focus on actively developing, retaining, and attracting talent.
  • Based in Boulder / Frederick Colorado.

Additional requirements and experience:

  • BS in a life science related field; PhD, M.S. or MBA preferred.
  • Prior Senior level management experience: General Manager/site leadership experience preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in one or more of the following: Product Development leadership, Business Development leadership, Engineering leadership, Quality and Compliance Leadership, Manufacturing Leadership, or related positions with increasing levels of management responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated track record of success in leading a diverse team while growing revenues.
  • Global experience; with customers and competitors.
  • Domain knowledge / understanding of key technologies/science and relevant market dynamics for oligonucleotide market.
  • Knowledge and experience in developing, launching, and managing complex products in a cGMP regulated environment.
  • Strategic and execution ability; proven experience in developing and executing complex strategic plans.
  • Demonstrated track record of results utilizing interpersonal, relationship-building skills required in leading complex teams in a fast-paced environment.

Pay Range

$271,200.00-$423,750.00
