Job Description:

Robert Half Executive Search has been exclusively retained to identify a Vice President of Human Resources. Our client, based in Orange County, is one of the nation's most respected arts and entertainment organizations. They are nationally recognized for their community interaction as well as commitment for providing a wide array of arts-based education, live performance, and community engagement programs. They are seeking an experienced HR leader with outstanding people skills to manage their personnel and ensure that their human resources programs and initiatives are effective, efficient, and aligned to their overall business objectives. Reporting to the CEO, the VP of HR will be responsible for Recruitment and Hiring, Training and Development, Employer-Employee Relations, Maintain and continue to build on Company Culture, Manage Employee Benefits, Compliance and Handle Disciplinary Actions.

The successful candidate will have 10+ years of HR leadership experience and possess a high work ethic, knowledge of California labor regulations and laws, HR practices, talent acquisition and compliance. Experience creating Diversity Equity and Inclusion initiatives and/or programs is essential.

Functional Competencies:

  • Broad knowledge and experience in compliance, talent acquisition, compensation and benefits practices, organizational planning and development and employee relations.
  • HR Business Partner experience preferred
  • Experience with EDI or DEI; developing programs, events, and community
  • Proficient with employee relations and developing strong engagement programs
  • Previous experience with compensation committee or establishing compensation and benefit structures.
  • Experience with creating and filing 5500 forms
  • Previous experience building a talent acquisition organization from scratch
  • Ability to create process and programs and implement them effectively
  • Highly responsive to inquiries, incidents, issues, or requests.
  • Data driven and detail oriented
  • Previous experience working and negotiating with Unions is desirable
  • Possesses the ability to communicate vision and turn concepts into actionable plans
  • Has the ability to establish credibility and be decisive; makes decisions that recognize and support the organization's preferences and priorities

Education and Certification/License Credentials

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Professional Human Resource Certifications are desired (for example: SHRM, SHRL, HRCI, HRM, PHR. SPHR, CHRP)
