What you can expect As Vice President, Head of Mutual Fund Operations, you will lead our affiliated transfer agent Prudential Mutual Fund Services (PMFS) for PGIM retail, target date, insurance funds and alternative funds. This entity is organized in three divisions each led by a Vice President: (i) Operations & Oversight, (ii) Sales Support and Intermediary Payments and (iii) Client Service and Call Center. You will work closely with various fund service providers and intermediaries to oversee and direct service and operations functions. You will partner with internal business groups within PGIM Investment to include: National Accounts, Sales, Product Development, Risk Management, Law and Compliance. This role will also require communication with various PGIM's asset managers and the affiliated distributor Prudential Investment Management Services (PIMS) a limited purpose broker dealer. This role will report to the Head of Fund Administration.
What you will bring - Provide strategic direction for PGIM Investments setting service and operations strategy.
- Lead a team of 33 professional supporting PGIM retail, insurance, target date and alternative funds.
- Deep knowledge of transfer agent and intermediary operations processes
- Ability to oversee fund service providers and multiple transfer agents to ensure a superior client experience.
- Commitment to maintaining a robust control environment by analyzing risks and remaining current on regulatory changes.
- Experience in conducting virtual and on-site due diligence reviews with key transfer agents and intermediaries supporting PGIM products.
- Participate in industry committees, client advisory groups and attend industry conferences.
- Ability to present service strategy and key performance indicators to Fund Board for affiliated transfer agent and fund service providers.
- Experience in preparing for annual contract renewal process for affiliated transfer agent and fund service providers.
- Knowledge of key industry utilities DTCC/NSCC mutual fund processing and AIP processing.
- Ability to execute on data stewardship, understanding industry data sources and overseeing third party dealer data integrity necessary to support management reporting and wholesaler comp.
- Expertise in reviewing and negotiating service contracts with vendors and intermediaries.
- A proactive approach to continuous improvement and process automation
- Ability to lead buildout out of operational support for new products.
What will set you apart - Experienced operations professional having led mutual fund operations, transfer agency function or brokerage.
- Knowledge and understanding of FINRA and SEC rules governing registered product.
- Proven Communication skills with ability to interact and collaborate effectively with all levels of management, providing timely, clear, and complete messaging.
- Collaborates in a fully inclusive and open manner.
- Professional skepticism in assessing appropriateness, objectivity, and independence.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to analyze opportunities/issues to develop business solutions.
- Creative and strategic approach to problem solving and change management.
- Series 7, 24 and 63 license.
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degrees preferred.
