- Oversees the day-to-day financial operations of the organization including accounting, financial systems, financial planning and analysis. Develops, implements, operates, maintains, and controls the essential financial business of the company.
- Supervisory responsibilities including leadership, staffing, personnel development, performance management, and coaching a team of accounting and finance professionals.
- Defines and implements key performance indicators and strategic objectives for the department and the organization; facilitates measurement of those objectives, advising, making recommendations, and reporting results to the executive team.
- Acts as a business partner and financial consultant to leaders as they execute strategy while meeting financial objectives. Drives a business partnership model across the organization.
- Develops and implements financial strategies, including budgeting, cash flow, and investment priorities.
- Ensures financial statements and reports are accurate and timely, presenting them to various stakeholders including the executive team, CEO, and board of directors. Designs and coordinates a wide variety of accounting and statistical data and reports to improve the decision quality of leadership.
- Assesses the company's finances to identify areas of risk and implements risk management practices. Drafts policies and best practices to support achievement of objectives and required standards. Works to make business processes more effective, efficient, and secure.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, and best practices, including but not limited to tax laws, generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), federal acquisition regulations (FAR), and cost accounting standards (CAS).
- Maintains knowledge of developments and trends in finance and administration including technological advances.
- Facilitates implementation of new systems and major modifications of existing systems.
- Performs other duties as required.
Requirements
- Requires 15+ years of accounting and finance experience.
- Requires 10+ years of leadership experience.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting and finance, MBA required.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA)
- Skilled in financial analysis, risk management, and business development support and analysis
- Strategic thinking and consultative approach to partnering with other leaders.
- Experience interacting with a board of directors.
- Business transformation experience.
- Thorough understanding of financial and legal best practices and requirements with a proven ability to provide sound, ethical financial counsel to executive leadership.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required.
Starting pay for this position includes a base pay range of $240,000 - $300,000 in addition to a bonus based on company and individual performance.
