About the role:
As the Vice President of Freight Forwarding for TQL Global, you will be responsible for overseeing the strategic direction, operational efficiency, and financial performance of our freight forwarding division. Established in 2018, you will have the opportunity to work directly with executive leadership to develop and execute the strategies to build and grow the company. This includes leading a team of 250+, improving our go-to-market business plans, optimizing processes, and ensuring the highest level of service is delivered to internal and external customers.
What you'll be doing:
- Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance TQL Globals market position and grow revenue.
- Oversee daily operations, ensuring efficient and effective freight forwarding processes and compliance with industry regulations.
- Design, develop, and execute customer and supplier strategies to improve sales and operational productivity.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, building a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Ensure exceptional customer service by addressing client needs, resolving issues, and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Implement and optimize processes and technologies to improve operational efficiency and service quality.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with freight forwarding operations.
- Work closely with other departments, including sales, marketing, finance, and operations, to align strategies and achieve organizational objectives.
- Prepare and present regular reports on the divisions performance, highlighting key metrics, challenges, and opportunities to the executive team.
What you'll need:
- 10+ years of experience in freight forwarding, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Bachelors degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of international freight forwarding, customs regulations, and industry best practices.
- Proven track record of driving business growth and achieving financial targets.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Excellent strategic planning, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in using logistics software and technology to enhance operational efficiency.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
