Job Title: Principal Lending Officer
Duration: FTE/Direct Hire

Job Description:
Must work onsite 4 days per week for the first 45 days and then 3 days per week later
Primarily responsible for managing and overseeing credit lending activities and operational requirements, developing, and implementing credit lending decision recommendations. Full responsibility for all credit lending compliance requirements.

Proactively identify emerging credit risks and issues within lending activities.
Risk Appetite
Monitor adherence to risk appetite metrics (thresholds and limits) and take appropriate action (e.g., escalate) when necessary.
Risk Profile and Reporting
Assess the overall credit risk profile of members, lending portfolio, and identify areas of concentration or vulnerability.
Monitor key credit risk indicators (e.g., troubled members, largest borrowers, watchlist members, etc.) and quality metrics (equity price monitoring).
Continuous Improvement
Foster a robust culture of risk management and continuous improvement; set right tone and the top which promotes awareness of risk.
Skills:
Expertise in assessing and managing credit, collateral, and counterparty risk(s) across lending product offerings (e.g., secured loans) and portfolios.
Strong leadership skills with ability to make quick lending decisions and to provide direction, guidance, and mentorship to Member Business, operation teams, and impacted stakeholders.
Proficiency in reviewing and understanding financial and underwriting analyses to evaluate member creditworthiness and assess lending viability, including broad understanding of risks associated across various institutions (e.g., banks, credit unions, and insurance companies).
In-depth knowledge of lending regulations and compliance requirements to ensure adherence and mitigate regulatory risks.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, and regulators, as appropriate.
Education:
Bachelor s degree in business, finance, or related field required. Master s degree is a plus.
Required Experience
Minimum of ten years in credit risk management, compliance, or a related role in the financial industry.
Leadership experience, including managing teams and projects.
