About the VP of Product position:

As the VP of Product, specializing in both Physical and Digital Products, you will play a pivotal role in driving the development, strategy, and overall success of our diverse product portfolio. You will be responsible for leading cross-functional teams in delivering exceptional physical products such as the Cozy, heat pumps, and thermal batteries, as well as digital products like the enterprise customer portal, partner platform, and data insight reporting. You ll be the only Product Manager at our Series A startup, and you ll be a member of the executive leadership team.

What You ll Do

  • Lead end-to-end product development for both physical and digital products, from concept to launch, ensuring alignment with company goals, customer needs, and market trends.
  • The physical products require a strong understanding of science and engineering. The digital products require an understanding of our customers, partners, and operations (internal customer). All of which requires the person to be on-site 4 days per week in the Brooklyn Navy Yard (next to Wegmans).
  • Collaborate closely with sales, operations, and engineering teams to define product roadmaps, features, and requirements, ensuring a holistic approach that meets customer and partner expectations.
  • Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and customer+partner feedback analysis (particularly internal customers, like operations) to identify opportunities and drive product innovation.
  • Prioritize features and enhancements based on strategic goals, customer and partner impact, technical feasibility, and business objectives.
  • Define and communicate product visions, goals, and user stories, fostering a clear understanding among cross-functional teams.
  • Develop and manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful product launches.
  • Collaborate with designers to create intuitive and user-friendly interfaces for both physical and digital products, maximizing user experience and value.
  • Monitor product performance post-launch, analyze key metrics, and gather user feedback to continuously iterate and improve products.

What You ll Need:

  • Proven experience (15+ years) as a Product Manager, leading the product development of both physical AND digital products.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a Product Manager director or VP, demonstrating strategic direction and direct participation with senior leadership teams.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, or a related field. Preferably mechanical engineering. Experience working with both external and internal customers, as well as partners.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC technology, particularly heat pumps and thermal batteries; experience with digital product development for SaaS applications.
  • Proficiency in utilizing data insights, market analysis, and customer feedback to drive product decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey complex concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and achieving common goals.
  • A customer-centric mindset with the ability to empathize with user needs and preferences.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment and adapting to evolving priorities.
  • Strong analytical skills and a data-driven decision-making approach.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive salary and equitable compensation
  • Opportunity to spearhead the development of innovative products that have a positive impact on both the environment and the industry.
  • Collaborative and diverse work environment that encourages creativity and teamwork.
  • Paid holidays and 4 weeks of paid-time-off
  • All the gear you need to work smart
  • Join a passionate team dedicated to pushing the boundaries of clean technology solutions.
