Job Description:

The Vice President of S&OP, Customer Service, and Logistics will lead and optimize the integration of customer service operations, logistics, distribution, and transportation, ensuring excellence in service delivery and operational efficiency. This role will bring the Distribution and Transportation, Customer Service, and Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) functions under one leadership position. Optimize our distribution, transportation footprint and optimize our speed to market with leading internal capabilities and external sourced competencies to accelerate value creation (gross productivity) and service while lowering the overall working capital inventory and optimizing Cost to Serve.

This role will report directly to the Sr. Vice President & CSCO and be an essential member of the senior Supply Chain Leadership team.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Distribution and Transportation:
    • Promote a safety culture by ensuring safety aspects of change management are embedded into the project culture.
    • Oversee global distribution and transportation operations, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of products.
    • Implement strategies for optimizing logistics processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Customer Service:
    • Lead customer service teams to improve customer satisfaction and retention.
    • Develop and execute initiatives to elevate the customer experience.
    • Develop maturity model to develop OTIF capability and raise the bar on differentiated service, and customer satisfaction.
  • Global Planning - Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP):
    • Sponsor the S&OP processes to align supply chain activities with business goals.
    • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and production teams to ensure accurate demand forecasting and inventory management.
    • Develop Strategic roadmap for differentiated service models, reduce overall working capital and cost to serve through S&OP.
  • Process Optimization:
    • Lead a culture of continuous learning and knowledge management by identifying and implementing process improvements to streamline operations and conducting and sharing post-project review and creating a database of lessons learned.
    • Leverage technology and best practices to enhance operational performance.
    • Leverage strong analytical, problem-solving, writing and communication skills, with ability to present on a variety of business, functional or operational topics.
    • Evaluate and recommend projects to the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), founded in the strategy, with the aim to optimize the long-term value for CH Guenther & Sons.
    • Create a technology roadmap in partnership with Strategy, Transformation and Network Optimization team that accelerates value creation in cost and free cash flow while delivering customer expected service On-time, In-Full.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration:
    • Foster collaboration across customer service, logistics, sales, and operations teams.
    • Ensure alignment of departmental goals with overall business objectives.
    • Leverage strong project management experience in managing multiple projects including managing resources and budgets, facilitating teams through the business requirements.
    • Understand business needs and lead delivery across diverse stakeholder groups within businesses and functions to understand existing conditions, requirements, and constraints, and to plan, design, and implement solutions.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
  • Minimum Job Requirements:Education/Certifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or other related field. Master's Degree, preferred.
  • 20 plus years of proven experience in supply chain and planning management.
  • Demonstrated previous experience in change and project management.
  • Experience as a strategic business partner to the function and cross-functional partners.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Proficient use of computer, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote), and other related applications or software.

  • Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • The role will have supervisory accountability for the Director of Customer Service, Senior Director of Global Planning, and Director of Distribution & Transportation.
  • Work requires supervising and monitoring work performance of direct reports including making final decisions on hiring and disciplinary actions, evaluating program/work objectives and effectiveness, and realigning work and staffing assignments, as needed.
  • Develop functional responsibilities of individuals that report to this position and ensure that best-in-class output is created.
  • Working Conditions and Physical Effort:
  • Typical work in office environment but will spend periods of time in manufacturing plants which can be cold/hot environments.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds at times.
  • Required travel on an as-needed basis, which may vary depending on business requirements.
