Job Description

The Revenue Management & Analytics team within Amex Travel is a newly forming, fast-growth division that will play a key role in informing our global travel strategy, strengthening partner relationships, and catalyzing overall enterprise business growth through data driven insights and financial reporting.

As the VP of Revenue Management & Analytics, you will be responsible for leading data analytics and financial planning to inform marketing, partnerships, and product strategy across Amex Travel. In this critical role, the VP will lead a team of 20+ team members to proactively identify opportunities for driving stronger customer engagement & loyalty and advancing our partner relationships with top travel brands.

This VP will also lead the charge on elevating the travel benefit strategy globally. This will mean establishing a strong base of 1) analytics to demonstrate an understanding of customer behavior across travel partners and travel benefits, including lodging and air offerings, 2) leadership in revenue management strategy to optimize partner contracts and sales performance and 3) financial reporting to support the delivery of our next generation travel strategy.

To achieve these ambitions, it is imperative that this leader builds strong relationships and collaborates effectively within TLS and with colleagues across the global card product and card marketing teams, leaders across Global Merchant & Network Services, the TLS Servicing organization and global analytics teams. Effective collaboration with these enterprise stakeholders will ensure that we're working across the company, as one Amex, to deliver travel benefits to our Card Members. Additionally, the VP will be a seasoned and strategic thought leader, willing to challenge the status quo using powerful insights from data analytics. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.

  • Collaborate with marketing, partnerships, and strategy teams to fully understand priorities and seek input from partners to strengthen deliverables and continue to develop more robust and on-point analytics.
  • Recruit, retain, and develop a new, global air revenue management team to grow and scale our distinguished air partners program.
  • Own and manage core revenue and analytics KPIs through dynamic dashboards, executive presentations, and progress tracking.
  • Develop robust processes for reporting dashboards and KPIs.
  • Establish and implement strategies that drive revenue growth generation among key customer segments and revenue centers.
  • Lead alignment and execution of revenue goals across TLS, ensuring integration with all departments.
  • Manage and prioritize demands for data, ad hoc analytics, and reporting from multiple collaborators, reallocating resources as necessary to ensure alignment with business priorities.
  • Partner with capabilities and other analytics teams across the organization to ensure the team is optimally using capabilities, data, and analytical platforms, as well as staying up to speed with new developments and techniques.

Qualifications:

  • Strong background in data-driven strategy, revenue management, and cross-functional leadership in a highly matrixed environment.
  • Extensive functional and technical understanding of pricing, trade investment, and product mix management.
  • Advanced analytical skills and strategic planning skills, with expertise in targeting, segmentation, reporting and measurement, multivariate analysis, modeling, sales, revenue management systems, pricing strategies and market analysis.
  • Experience with partner negotiations.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external business partners globally.
  • Outstanding collaboration skills, ability to work across teams regardless of reporting lines, to achieve joint outcomes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts and analytics-driven findings to non-technical collaborators.
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., statistics, engineering, math, science, economics, etc.). Advanced degrees preferred.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years in revenue management roles, including at least 3 years in a senior leadership position.
