Vice President, Strategic Communications, Brand & Marketing will lead the teams responsible for TNTP's external voice and brand. You will develop and lead the execution of TNTP's overall strategy towards communication, marketing, media and engagements strategies, including connecting narratives from across the organization, sharing our impact, bolstering our sector leadership, and building the external momentum necessary to achieve outcomes for students. You will collaborate closely with senior leadership to align communication initiatives and stakeholder impact with the organization's goals and values.
Some responsibilities and duties may vary, but the role of Vice President, Strategic Communications, Brand & Marketing includes: - Cast a vision for the Communications, Brand & Marketing teams that builds momentum for our mission and impact externally, connects the organization and its stakeholders, and establishes a collaborative and highly effective team function.
- Lead outcome-driven strategies to enhance TNTP's voice and impact.
- Provide thought leadership, managing stakeholder engagement, elevating executives, building overall brand reputation, and developing fully integrated programs that deliver measurable results.
- Lead a team of communications, brand & marketing professionals to design and deliver all aspects of external communications and engagement, including positioning and messaging, issues management, executive visibility, communications, brand, and digital marketing.
- Operate as a coach and trusted communications advisor to the Executive and Leadership Teams, serving as an enterprise-wide communications partner to the Executive Team and at times, as an organizational spokesperson.
- Identify and implement a vision for strategic engagements, external communications & platforms, and partnerships that further define TNTP's position as a catalyst for change in public education.
- Craft thoughtful points of view and recommendations based on a broad understanding of education landscapes and media relations, bringing new ideas that challenge the status quo.
- Anticipate potential risks and issues and help navigate challenges with communications expertise, marketing position, institutional knowledge, and attention to brand reputation.
- Establish and foster a supportive, inclusive, and cohesive team culture and commit to the development of team members through active coaching and mentorship.
- Lead your teams to drive results towards organizational Key Performance Indicators through the development of best-in-class communications campaigns and marketing strategies/resources.
- Promote cross-team communication and efficiency; establish priorities, engage in problem solving to eliminate bottlenecks and problem areas, and continuously elevate and accelerate team performance.
- Oversee budgeting, reporting, analyses, and recommendations and a variety of management duties, while keeping a pulse on KPIs and effectiveness metrics.
WHAT YOU HAVE
Qualifications, and Experiences - Ten to twelve years (minimally) of progressive communications leadership; with at least 7 years in a high-level, strategic role and proven experience leading large-scale programs and relationships for complex organizations.
- Highly experienced multidisciplinary communications leadership, with strong skills in social media, marketing, media, and digital communications, and high-level experience in media relations strategy and execution.
- Leadership experience in brand development and brand reputation for large organizations.
- Deep understanding of the intersection of public relations, public policy and reputation, with insights and expertise on K-12 education.
- Digital fluency and demonstrated ability to deliver programs that change stakeholder opinions utilizing earned, owned and paid media.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to build cohesive messages for various audiences, employees, and key stakeholders.
- Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills with staff at all levels of an organization.
- Flexibility and a solutions orientation, including the ability to jump in to mid-stream activity in a hands-on way to ensure success of the programs.
- Prior strong experience managing staff and leading and developing a high-performing MarComms team, fostering their professional growth and ensuring the function delivers meaningful impact to the organization.
- Experience in managing multiple work streams and staying on top of budgets, priorities, and goals.
- Evidence of a strong commitment to ending education inequality.

WHAT WE OFFER The salary range for this position is $151,200 - $226,800. New hires can typically expect a starting salary
between the range minimum and the salary range midpoint, in alignment with experience, qualifications, and our commitment to equity in compensation.
