This position is an unclassified employee of the Greene County Prosecutor's Office with assignment to the Victim/Witness Division.Regular business hours are 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday-Friday. Duties for this position include participation in evening/weekend/holiday on-call rotation.Actual salary offered depends on education, previous experience, qualifications, and skill set of the applicant. Duties/Responsibilities•Provide comprehensive assistance, to include crisis intervention, emotional support, accompaniment, court advocacy services and resource referral to victims and witnesses of crime.•Facilitate notification to crime victims regarding rights and responsibilities, as outlined in the Ohio Constitution and ORC Chapter 2930.•Disseminate information and assist clients make application for VINE notification and Ohio Victims of Crime Compensation Program.•Support crime victims during the investigative process with law enforcement.•Participate on court advocacy team, following established service protocol.•Participate in evening/weekend/holiday on call rotation for crisis intervention services.•Attend forensic interviews of children referred for services to the Child Advocacy Center.•Assist law enforcement/Coroner making compassionate death notification to survivors of homicide and traumatic death.•Adherence to established ethical, confidentiality, and behavioral standards of conduct. Minimum Qualifications•Bachelors Degree in social sciences, criminal justice, or related field preferred.•Minimum two (2) years of experience in an advocacy-related position preferred.•Knowledge of criminal justice system, victims' rights, and crisis intervention strategies.•Well-developed critical thinking/problem solving skills, highly organized, self-motivated.•Strong oral and written communication skills.•Able to engage and effectively communicate with individuals from diverse backgrounds.•Valid Ohio motor vehicle operator's license and reliable transportation.•Reliable phone service.
