QUICK SUMMARY

  • We are looking for a video director with leadership experience who can guide a team through all aspects of video production.
  • You need to be equal parts creative and customer service oriented. You should be able to quickly pitch ideas to clients, gain their trust, and maintain that trust through to the end of the project. Simply put, our clients need to love you.
  • We are looking for a well-rounded individual - someone who knows video production, but who can also comfortably converse on a range of topics. Many of our clients are executives and successful professionals with advanced degrees.
  • Lastly, we are looking for a culture fit (see below).

We specialize in producing exceptional visual content and running high-performance campaigns for small to medium-sized businesses. Our team is passionate about helping our clients grow by achieving their marketing goals. Our office is located in central Austin near some of the best restaurants and coffee shops in town.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Participate in pitching ideas to prospective clients and assist in the creation of compelling pitch decks to help win new projects.
  • Work on projects that range from social media content & corporate event coverage, to six-figure TV commercials
  • Work directly with clients and the producer to work through aspects of pre-production, including conceptual development, logistics planning, and alignment on creative vision.
  • Lead creative on video shoots, overseeing the artistic direction, visual style, and shot execution.
  • Develop and manage shot lists, ensuring all planned content is captured effectively during shoots. The success of video projects will ultimately be your responsibility.
  • Guide the team through the filming process, from directing talent to ensuring technical quality and overall project flow.
  • Collaborate with editors and post-production team to ensure the final product meets client expectations and creative standards.
  • Serve as a point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle, maintaining excellent communication and upholding Bennett Creative's reputation for professionalism.
  • Lead a talented crew, providing clear guidance, fostering collaboration, and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Depending on the project and our workload, you'll be expected to operate cameras and do some editing.
  • We travel about once a month for projects, sometimes for multiple days. Expect to be out of town a few nights per quarter.

YOUR SKILLS

  • 5+ years of commercial film directing experience, with a proven track record of leading successful projects from concept to completion.
  • Well-versed in the technical aspects of production: camera operating, lens selection, cinematic lighting, directing trained & untrained talent, data management, editing in Adobe Suite.
  • Completed bachelor's degree
  • Excited to join a small team within a growing company
  • Strong business acumen, as most of our clients are business owners and CEOs.
  • Self-awareness in the way you present yourself as a professional, including attire and personal grooming.
  • Excellent leadership skills to inspire and guide team members.
  • Superior communication skills, with the ability to interface with clients and crew in a professional manner.
  • Attention to detail and passion for delivering top-tier creative content.

START DATE

TBD - end of 2024/beginning of 2025

SALARY + BENEFITS

  • $70k - $90k / year depending on experience and skillset
  • 10 days of paid-time-off (PTO) in the first year. More PTO per year after that.
  • 12 paid bank holidays.
  • 1:1 comp days for weekend work

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Must currently be Austin-based.
  • Must have your own car and valid drivers license
  • Must be legally allowed to work in the United States
  • 4-year college degree

INTERVIEW PROCESS

Apply on LinkedIn only and answer the screening questions honestly. If you're a good fit, we will reach out requesting a portfolio or work samples. After that, we will be conducting quick, initial interviews over Google Meet with our Producer. If invited to a second interview, that will be conducted with our CEO over Google Meet. Final candidates will be invited to the office for an in-person interview with a few of our team members. Any additional interviews after the in-person will be kept to a minimum and conducted over Google Meet. We will also need 3 references that we can call and speak to on the phone.
