Candidate must be familiar with the entire video production process, from pre-production to post production. The candidate for this position must be client service oriented and able to work with a variety of personalities and high stress situations.Job Responsibilities:20%: Video Production: Conceptualize, plan, film, animate and edit high-quality videos (including but not limited to promotional videos, educational videos, interviews, feature stories, event coverage, social media clips, and multimedia presentations) that highlight LSU's academic programs, research discoveries, student experiences, faculty expertise, educational videos, press conferences, campus events, and system-wide initiatives and content from the Office of the President. Develop creative concepts and visual storytelling strategies to enhance the university's brand identity and communication efforts. 20%: Departmental Equipment and Technology: Operate professional Sony series cameras, audio equipment, lighting, and editing editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro). Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in video production.20%: Collaboration and Coordination: Collaborate with colleagues in the communications team, graphic designers, writers, storytellers, marketers, and other university departments as well as key stakeholders to integrate multimedia content into comprehensive communication strategies to be distributed on the LSU YouTube channel, LSU social media channels, LSU podcast streaming channels, local and national TV channels, and for other LSU campuses across the state. Coordinate production schedules, interviews, and content distribution to ensure timely delivery and maximum impact. Oversee student workers within the video department.20%: Maintenence and Troubleshooting: Perform duties related to the department of video production, including basic technical troubleshooting, student worker supervision, and equipment and studio maintenance. Maintain and catalogue the video department's library of footage for use in communication materials, publications, websites, and social media platforms. Serves as essential personnel in times of emergencies. Essential personnel duties can include but are not limited to: shooting video of the campus in the aftermath of a storm or crisis; assisting in setting up and participating in the official LSU call center; recording emergency voice mail messages for the university; and other related communication duties.20%: Brand Representation: Uphold LSU's brand standards, visual guidelines, and storytelling principles in all multimedia content, podcasts, and visual assets. Maintain consistency in messaging, tone, and visual aesthetics across different platforms and channels. Other duties as assigned.Additional Requirements:Essential Personnel- This position may be required to report to campus in times of emergency and/or closure per PS-18. These duties include but are not limited to: shooting video of campus in the aftermath of a storm or crisis and other related communications duties.
