We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team. The Accountant will maintain and control General Ledger accounts and business transactions, applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) with a focus on accuracy, analytical work, and financial record review. This critical role supports the general and administrative functions of the organization, providing financial insights to enable informed decision-making by the management team.
Key Responsibilities
The Accountant will be responsible for the following duties, including but not limited to:
General Ledger Management: Review accounts payable entries, account reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end accruals.Fixed Asset Records: Maintain records, track asset purchases/disposals, and record monthly depreciation.Bank & Credit Reconciliation: Reconcile company and property bank accounts, corporate credit card statements, and associated accounting system entries.Account Reviews: Reconcile operating and investment accounts on a monthly basis.Billing Support: Process billing transactions and ensure accurate accounting system entries.Grant Management: Review grant expenses, prepare reimbursement requests, and generate required reports.Budget Analysis: Prepare monthly budget/forecast-to-actual reports for programs and departments and participate in monthly financial statement reviews.Intercompany Transactions: Review, record, and reconcile intercompany invoices and journal entries.Audit Assistance: Support annual financial audits and internal audits of grants and programs.Cross-Functional Support: Perform job duties of other Finance Department staff during vacations, absences, or as assigned by the Accounting Manager or CFO. Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field, or equivalent experience of at least five (5) years.
Skills & Competencies:
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Experience with Sage Intacct and Real Page is a plus.
- Exceptional attention to detail, analytical and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Collaborative team player who can also work independently.
