The purpose of this job is to oversee and coordinate the development, implementation, and evaluation of violence prevention programs and initiatives. This position will work closely with community organizations, government agencies and stakeholders to develop strategies that reduce violence and improve public safety and well-being.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities - The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description

* Develops, implements and evaluates comprehensive violence prevention programs and initiatives.

* Coordinates with community organizations, government agencies, and stakeholders to ensure program effectiveness and alignment with community needs.

* Builds and maintains relationships with community leaders, organizations, and stakeholders.

* Facilitates community meetings and forums to gather input and promote violence prevention efforts.

* Collects, analyzes and interprets data to inform policy decisions and program development.

* Prepares and presents reports and other materials to communicate findings and recommendations.

* Monitors and evaluates program outcomes.

* Identifies and pursues funding opportunities to support programs.

* Writes grant proposals, manages grant-funded projects, and administers grant proceeds.

* Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function.

* Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

* No supervisory authority. Work does require providing guidance and training to others.

Education and Experience - An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered

Education and Experience

* Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration, Public Health, Criminal Justice, Sociology, Psychology, Social Work or related field.

* 5 to 7 years' experience in violence prevention, public health or intervention/reentry programs administration.

* Experience in trauma informed care, restorative and harm-reducing approaches to violence reduction and behavior transformation preferred.

Licenses or Certifications

* Valid driver's license.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities which may be representative, but not all-inclusive of those commonly associated with this position

* Cultural factors that influence violence and its prevention.

Hours/Days

General office hours are Monday - Friday from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Required to attend evening and weekend meetings as needed.
