Job Type Part-timeDescriptionVirtual Field Trip Facilitators use digital tools to deliver to K-12 classrooms across the state high-quality interactive experiences that engage students with Museum objects and provide opportunities for discussion, close looking, and development of skills in visual literacy and critical thinking.Responsibilities
- Facilitate virtual field trips for K-12 audiences according to need and demand.
- In collaboration with the Manager of Virtual Field Trips, create new virtual field trip programs and supporting resources as well as revise existing VFTs.
- Participate in weekly team meetings.
- Engage in professional development including, but not limited to, on-the-job training before independently facilitating VFTs, teaching to the VFT team for practice and to reflect on these experiences, staying abreast of inquiry-based and multimodal strategies for engagement, works of art in the NCMA collection, VFT programs, and virtual engagement tools used by the team.
- Observing other VFT team members facilitating programs with school groups and reflecting on these experiences.
- Manage their own calendar availability, scheduling, teacher communication, and statistical tracking.
- Keep track of hours worked per week and update the Manager of VFTs on any changes in work pace needed to fulfill hours per week.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in art or education, two years of experience teaching, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to work a flexible 10 hours per week between the hours of 8am and 3:30pm on weekdays.
