Position Type: Certified - District OfficeDate Posted: 11/19/2024Location: INSTRUCTIONAL SERVICES DEPARTMENTPOSITION PURPOSE: To enhance the success of the Beaufort County School District by providing services to students that will help them with their development. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Monitor MTSS and PBIS implementation in a virtual context and provide reporting information.
  • Provide support for schools serving homeless students within a virtual context.
  • Provide reporting of monitoring, support and intervention for students with continuing emotional and/or behavioral problems.
  • Participate in district and building level professional development that impacts operations of the virtual programs within school district fidelity of practice.
  • Become familiar with district's and/or school's policies/procedures/pedagogy (e.g.: handbooks, budgets, instructional best practices, contemporary software models, effective reporting mechanisms, staff development).
  • Ensures program-wide data collection systems are established.
  • Trains/updates school administrators and educators on procedures/expectations (K-12 schools) as needed.
  • Works cooperatively with principals to schedule training on software monitoring, student enrollment, academic and social emotional performances for school level and district personnel.
  • Works with Special Education Department procedures and needs of disabled students.
  • Stays current with Federal and South Carolina Department of Education changes affecting student education laws and procedures.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES: Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Chief Instructional Services Officer, Superintendent or other district office administrator as designated by the Superintendent. QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Hold a minimum of a bachelor's degree, master's degree is preferred.
  • Must be certified or in the process of certification with the South Carolina Department of Education.
  • Knowledge of Federal and South Carolina Law and Administrative school level application of that law.
  • Knowledge of computer software that allows for data analysis, and district student information systems software.
  • Knowledge of local student policies.
EXPERIENCE:
  • Must have completed a program of study in education from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum three (3) years of classroom teaching experience.
