The Virtual Services Center Supervisor will be delegated tasks consistent with the scope and function of the overall plan of care for Community Health System. The Supervisor will provide positive support for the overall goals, values, and mission of the Command Center located at our Tennova Clarksville facility. The Supervisor will demonstrate advanced knowledge, skills, and understanding for the unique patients served in the care of the Command Center. The Supervisor will utilize the patient safety monitoring protocol to ensure safe care is delivered to patients in order to achieve quality outcomes and communicate need for guidance based on strengths and limitations. The Supervisor will assist with daily operations and work collaboratively with the Virtual Services Center Manger and nursing personnel at all the hospital sites. The supervisor responsibilities are to include the supervision of the Virtual Center Patient Safety Attendants as well as operational functions within the center.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

* Able to assist with management of staff competencies for staff development program within the Advanced Learning System (ALC) and assists in providing opportunities for support and career growth of the staff within the department to include the Virtual Patient Safety Technicians.

* Responsible for day to day staffing for the current shift and next shift. Also has oversight of the schedule and ensuring a balanced and adequate staffing model for the fluctuation of the patient census. Supervision of the day to day operations such as managing personnel issues and coaching the employees as needed. Open communication and escalating concerns to department manager or director.

* Assists with communicating facility needs and pertinent updates to the Patient Safety Monitor Technician's. Reviews and communicates patient escalations to the house supervisors and completes daily review for de-escalations for the Safety Monitor Technicians. Serves as the liaison for hospital, community, and other institutions.

* Creates/fosters a positive work environment by leading by example and holding all staff accountable for their behaviors and attitudes. Counsels, coaches, and mentors personnel in real time with concerning performance and behavior.

* Assists with the interview process for potential candidates and collaborates with the other supervisors, Virtual Center Manager and Director in the decision process for new hires.

* Oversight of new hire's orientation, onboarding, and ensures adequate socialization to the department to facilitate employee satisfaction and retention of staff.

* Participates in counseling and guidance of personnel. Has ability to assume twenty-four hour responsibilities for integration of patient care. Recognizes personal responsibility in striving for innovative health care delivery and assumes leadership in negotiating for changes in health care.

* Supervisor is responsible for ensuring adequate breaks and lunch breaks are adhered to per policy. Supervisor will have an awareness of financial responsibility regarding supply utilization, staffing to the census as well as incremental overtime.

* Must learn and comply with system and facility safety policies and rules; must use appropriate safety equipment and procedures at all times; must immediately report all unsafe conditions to department director, must be familiar with all safety features of equipment, tools or materials encompassed by the job duties.

* Adheres to CHS Code of Conduct and demonstrates ethical behaviors as expected by our patients, colleagues and the community. Understands the personal obligation to report an activity that appears to violate applicable laws, rules, regulations or the Code of Conduct itself.

Qualifications

Preferred Education:

Associates Degree preferred

Required Experience:

2 years in healthcare

Preferred Experience:

1 + years working in Virtual Command Center Environment

Required License/Registration/Certification:

BLS certification - Must be obtained within 90 days of employment.

Computer Skills Required:

Understands the virtual monitoring system and CHS communications program. Able to use MS word and Excel. Knows common office equipment and appropriate patient equipment according to area/unit.
