Position: Visitation Monitor Location: Los Angeles, CA area (On-site) Reports to: Family Intake Housing Lead Status: Non-Exempt Salary: $22 to $26/hr depending on experiencePrimary Responsibilities Include: Facilitate and arrange visitation between various parties including parents, caregivers, and DCFS Monitor child visitation and prepare declarations documenting the visitation Facilitate communication with ANWOL's Family Reunification team and DCFS social workers Manage and maintain a visitation monitoring caseload to maximize effectivenessQualifications: AA degree, BA degree, or 2 years direct experience working with children or parents in a related field Must be willing to obtain a certificate in professional visitation monitoring. Must comply with the 2024 California Rules of Court uniform standards of practice for providers of supervised visitation. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to sensitively approach discussions with parties and children, including those with unique mental health and developmental needs. Must be comfortable communicating with attorneys, judges and other stakeholders in a court setting. Must be able to read and interpret court orders, policies, and statutes concerning the family reunification process, and become comfortable enough with these laws and policies to understand court proceedings and teach the information to others. Must have a well-developed social justice ethic and racial justice framework, with a specific understanding of the historical, political, and other contextual factors that lead to disproportionate and discriminatory contact with mass incarceration and the child welfare system. Preferred lived experience or professional experience working with system-impacted communities, including but not limited to people who are incarcerated and/or formerly incarcerated; communities of color; women; people who have experienced gender-based violence and/or discrimination; foster youth; anyone else who experiences disproportionate governmental intrusions and scrutiny based on race, poverty, gender, sexuality, disability, immigration status, or other factors. Demonstrated ability to work well independently and pursue opportunities for self-teaching and skill development as needed. Must have proper documentation of driver's license, proof of insurance and access to an automobile.Compensation and Benefits: ANWOL offers competitive salary based on experience.
