The at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) invites applications for one or more visiting assistant professors in all areas of mathematics, including algebra, number theory, topology, analysis, and geometry and dynamics. Under the direction of the Mathematics Department Chair, the visiting assistant professor(s) will contribute to undergraduate and graduate instruction and the research activity of the department. Research, teaching, and service expectations are typical for early-career faculty at a research university. Furthermore, the selected candidate(s) will be expected to participate in department seminars.Preference will be given to candidates whose field of research complements the department's . Visiting assistant professors will be matched with a mentor from our permanent faculty for career and research guidance.Experience teaching mathematics at the college or university level as the instructor of record will be highly valued.
