Position Summary:

We are looking for a Viticulture Data Solutions Manager to join our National Grape team. In this role, you'll work with existing and new systems and data to enhance grower profitability, reduce risk, and identify opportunities for growth from dirt to doorstep.

As Welch's and National Grape Cooperative implement a digital transformation, we're looking for talent with robust knowledge in precision agriculture, model building, statistical analysis, reporting, and problem solving. As part of our digital transformation, you'll support the design, build, implementation, training, and continual development of resources for viticulture based data.

This role will be based out of our Westfield, NY National Grape Cooperative headquarters where you will be immersed in a dynamic workplace where innovation thrives, and collaboration is key.

Our company in-office schedule is designed to maximize collaboration & relationship building balanced with flexibility and well-being.

What You'll Do:

This position will require you to understand and leverage organizational and grower data related to business and agricultural processes. You'll need to ensure accurate, reliable, and secure data management and processing to provide knowledge, insights, forecasting, and prescriptions to improve overall business performance from dirt to doorstep.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

* Support design, implementation, and continuation of the organization's digital transformation (OPTIMUS), partnering closely with National's IT Solution Delivery Lead, National staff, and grower-owners

* Through curiosity and data science, identify opportunities to leverage data and improve its economic, competitive, and operational value for dirt to doorstep stakeholders

* Support collection, processing, modeling, and interpretation of data for crop/farm management use by both company and grower-owner stakeholders. This includes but is not limited to crop estimation, activities tracking, and management/cultural practices

Who You Are:

* Proficient interpersonal skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Comfortable presenting to small and large groups. Working one-on-one with growers

* Continuous improvement mindset with desire to improve professional skills and business activities. A desire to problem solve and build modeling to support business decisions

* Self-motivated and results driven. Capability of leading self and leading others, assume leadership roles. Work with team members

* Working knowledge of agronomic/viticutural principles and practices, including Precision Ag principles and solutions

* Knowledge in data analysis, model building, statistical analysis, machine learning

* Ability to work through challenging situations and resolve conflicts quickly and effectively

* Makes decisions that positively impact the current and future state of the cooperative

* Works relentlessly to overachieve, anticipate obstacles, and create plans to overcome them. Sets stretch goals and plans to achieve them

* Engages in healthy dialogue and makes decisions with cooperatives best interest in mind

What You'll Need:

* Bachelor's degree in: Agriculture, Precision/Digital Agriculture, Spatial Data, Computer/Data science, or related field(s)

* Experience 2-3 years of experience in Viticulture/Agriculture/Precision Ag

* Proven experience in data management design, planning, and implementation

* Problem analysis and problem resolution at both strategic, operational and functional levels

* Proficiency with: MS office, Access, SharePoint, ERSI ArcGIS, model building, data/statistical analysis, spatial data, programing languages (Python, R, SQL, etc)
