Provides assistance with the daily operations of the Volunteer Services department and gift shop. Helps to support volunteer recruitment, retention and engagement. Works with the department manager to plan volunteer appreciation activities and events, including the annual recognition luncheon. Keeps the volunteer database updated. Willing to take on new projects as needed to contribute to the vitality of the Volunteer Services department. Plans and implements volunteer recruitment and placement for hospital service areas and Rhythm of our Youth cardiac screening events. Assists with screening set up. Engage school support staff to ensure successful screening events. Able to work a flexible schedule during screening events.
QUALIFICATIONS
Professional/Educational
Bachelor's Degree preferred or Associates Degree with proven experience and demonstrated ability working in a non-for-profit organization.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Experience with sales, expense and bank reconciliation.
Previous experience working with volunteers is preferred, with the ability to exhibit appreciation and respect of the volunteer workforce.
Excellent customer service skills.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
