As a Board Member, you will be at the forefront of guiding the strategic direction of our organization, ensuring effective governance, and championing our mission to provide second chances and mentorship to at-risk youth. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and impactful nonprofit, making a lasting difference in the lives of disadvantaged young people.Job DescriptionAs a board member, you will leverage your expertise in accounting and finance to help guide our financial strategies and ensure the fiscal health of our organization. This is a volunteer position with an estimated commitment of 10 hours per month, including quarterly board meetings and occasional events.Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Financial Oversight: Monitor the financial health of the organization and ensure proper financial controls are in place.
- Advise on Financial Strategy: Share insights and experience in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Support Fundraising Efforts: Assist in securing resources and building partnerships to sustain and grow our programs.
- Advocate for Our Mission: Act as an ambassador for Brakin Out Inc., raising awareness and support within the community and professional circles.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with a strong understanding of non-profit accounting.
- Excellent financial management, budgeting, and strategic planning skills.
- Strong understanding of the financial challenges and needs of non-profit organizations.
- Commitment to the mission and values of Brakin Out Inc.
- Experience in fundraising, grant writing, or resource development is a plus.
- Previous board experience is a plus but not required.
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
- Passionate about making a positive impact on the community.
