Please follow this link to view an informational video about Children's Wisconsin - Fox Valley: Please follow this link for a closer look at what it's like to work at Children's Wisconsin: Responsible for coordinating all operations of Volunteer Services for Children's Hospital Fox Valley; staffing, hours of operation, in alignment with CHW Foundation and Family Partners Program. Works with Patient Amenities and Family Services leadership and other leaders within the hospital and health system to identify volunteer needs and assists staff members in the placement and ongoing supervision of volunteers within the system. Works in partnership with Child Life to coordinate special events and donations. Champions the value of the volunteer program across the health system and throughout the community through resource sharing, presentations and recruitment activities.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:- Bachelor's degree in business or other related field required.
- Certified in Volunteer Administration Services (CAVS) within two years of hire.
- Job knowledge generally acquired through a minimum of four years of volunteer services experience in an administrative/leadership capacity. Preferably in a healthcare institution or community organization.
- Must possess excellent, effective interpersonal communication skills to negotiate for cooperation and encourage collaboration with superiors, peers, donors, community agencies and staff, along with the sensitivity to understand the special contributions of volunteers to the hospital.
- Knowledge of growth and development (as related to typically developing children/those with differing abilities) to guide interactions across the spectrum (neonatal, infant, toddler, pre-school, school-age, adolescent). Recognizes the impact of the health care experience/environment for children.
- Extensive knowledge of program development in customer service programs.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written. An innate desire to collaborate, a willingness to learn and adapt to the landscape of Volunteer Services, strong organizational skills and synergy with CHW System Volunteer Service's team is essential.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds frequently.
