Work Shift :Job Description :Your Job:In this highly visible, fast-paced, and challenging position, you'll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team member to provide the very best care for our patients. The Volunteer Coordinator provides administrative and programs support to the Volunteer Services Department and in the absence of the Director, oversees the day-to-day operation of the department, including managing the volunteers and staffing essential positions.Your Job Requirements:•High school Diploma or Equivalent required•Two years of college preferred or equal experience in a volunteer program•Bilingual, specifically Spanish, preferred•Computer skills, including but not limited to; Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Uses proactively to maintain scheduled events, appointments, documents, and requested data•Effectively adheres to MHS policies, guidelines, and standards of performance; including confidentiality of patient and business information, infection prevention, safety guidelines, emergency codes, dress code, and volunteer guidelines•Maintains confidentiality of patient, business and volunteer information Your Job Responsibilities:•Recruiting, onboarding, maintaining schedules, training and managing the day to day operations of the volunteer program. •Oversees daily schedule and reassignment when needed to fill key areas and department vacancies.•Consistently checks in with volunteers to ensure adequate training, problem resolutions, and information regarding changes to policies and procedures.•Proactively informs volunteers of daily activity changes and/or need to know information.•Obtain and retain an adequate number of trained/competent volunteers to serve in areas best matched to their available time, talents and interest, based on needs of Methodist Midlothian Medical Center, to help support hospital personnel. •Assists with volunteer position responsibilities in the event there is a lack of and/or no coverage in essential areas. •Maintains a positive work relationship with hospital staff/departments. Routinely follows up with needs assessments and feedback on volunteer's performance in assigned areas. •Notifies departments in advance when volunteers are not available for assigned shifts or unable to provide volunteer assistance with special requests. •Actively maintains payroll budgets by adhering to the attendance policy and clocking in/out at the appropriate times. •Other Duties as assigned.
