Join the Animal Friends team as a Volunteer Coordinator and help us make a positive impact in the community.The Volunteer Coordinator is a crucial part of the Volunteering/Welcome Center team. The Volunteer Coordinator must have excellent communication skills in order to ensure adequate communication between Animal Friends staff and volunteers. They will communicate updates, notifications, events, etc. with volunteers both in person as well as through the use of Volgistics. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, providing an overview of our volunteer programs, coordinating volunteer schedules, conducting volunteer getting started orientations, completing Volgistics audits, and assisting the Volunteering/Welcome Center team with projects, meetings, and events.Essential Functions :
- Leverages volunteer talent by engaging their assistance within the department, thereby helping us to further our mission and vision and to achieve the organization's expectation of 100% integration of volunteers into our programs.
- Headlines email communications from Animal Friends to our volunteer corps through the use of Volgistics.
- Coordinates schedule reminders & schedule changes for the volunteer corps.
- Monitors volunteer trainings and mentorships, and coordinates further volunteer trainings with staff and volunteers.
- Assists the Volunteer Program Manager with program development and volunteer retention projects.
- Assisting with volunteer event support such as managing RSVPs, set up/ tear down.
Qualifications and Experience :
- High school diploma or GED Required
- At least 1 year of customer service or administrative support experience Preferred
- Proficient in current technology and Point of Sales systems (Clover POS)
- Must have access to dependable transportation and openness to local travel
- Flexible work availability preferred; may be required to work evenings, weekends, holidays and/or special events at times, including Black Tie & Tails
- The physical demands for this job are as follows: Medium Work - Medium work is defined as lifting 50lbs maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 35lbs
- Must have a sincere interest in the vision, mission, and culture of Animal Friends
- Must meet essential functions within 60 days of hire
