Overview: The Bowen Center Outpatient and Health Clinic is seeking dedicated individuals to serve as Lobby Volunteers. This unpaid position plays a vital role in creating a welcoming and supportive environment for patients and visitors. Lobby Volunteers will assist in ensuring a smooth and positive experience for all individuals accessing services at our clinic. Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients and visitors as they enter the clinic with a warm and friendly demeanor.
  • Provide directions and assistance to individuals navigating the clinic, including locating specific departments or services.
  • Assist patients with filling out necessary forms or paperwork, if needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the lobby area, including tidying up magazines and brochures.
  • Monitor the lobby area to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for all individuals.
  • Alert clinic staff to any issues or concerns raised by patients or visitors.
  • Support clinic staff with miscellaneous tasks as needed.
  • Qualifications:
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for helping others.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect patient privacy.
  • Reliable and punctual, with a commitment to fulfilling scheduled volunteer shifts.
  • Comfortable working in a healthcare setting and interacting with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Prior experience in customer service or healthcare settings is a plus but not required.
  • Time Commitment: Lobby Volunteers are asked to commit to a regular schedule of shifts, typically ranging from 2 to 4 hours per week. Volunteers may have the opportunity to choose from a variety of available shifts to accommodate their availability. Training: All Lobby Volunteers will receive comprehensive training on clinic procedures, patient interactions, confidentiality guidelines, and emergency protocols. Ongoing support and supervision will be provided by clinic staff to ensure volunteers feel confident and comfortable in their role.
