Volunteers are an integral part of our LDS Hospital family, providing consistent and valuable support in a variety of departments throughout the hospital and contributing to the extraordinary patient care experience.This is an unpaid position that gives you the opportunity to use your talents, meet new people and experience the reward that comes from making a difference in people's lives.We are looking for caring and compassionate individuals to serve in such areas as:Surgical Waiting Room - Keeping family updated with information regarding their family member who is having surgeryEmergency Room - Assisting patients/staff in the Emergency Room meeting their needsGift Shop - Assisting customers with their purchases, pricing items and using the cash registerFront Information Desk - Engaging with individuals entering the hospital, assisting with wayfinding and escorting to appointmentsWomen's Services Reception Desk - Assisting visitors presenting to Women's ServicesDepartment - Other Department Volunteer opportunities as neededMusic - Playing Music in the Hospital LobbyQualifications:Six-month commitment with a minimum of a 3-4 hour shift each weekMust be at least 16 years of ageAble to work alone and independentlyGood communication and listening skillsAbility to follow instructionsAbility to work with diverse populationsPhysical mobility (walking, bending, standing)Adequate hearing and visionSensitive to patient and family situationsRequired:Passing a background check and drug screeningAgree to get a TB testMeet Immunization compliancePhysical Requirements:No Additional Description AvailableLocation:LDS HospitalWork City:Salt Lake CityWork State:UtahScheduled Weekly Hours:0Intermountain Health is an equal opportunity employer.
