Day.Aspirus is seeking a Vice President - Chief Compliance Officer at the Aspirus Corporate Office in Wausau, Wisconsin!Description: The Chief Compliance Officer is responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of daily operations of an effective Corporate Compliance and Privacy program for Aspirus, Inc., including its majority-owned subsidiaries ( Aspirus ) and regional affiliates. The Chief Compliance Officer works in collaboration with management and legal counsel to achieve system objectives and works with Senior Leadership in areas of planning, implementing, and evaluating compliance programs and strategies in the delivery of integrated health services on a system-wide basis. To accomplish this effort, the Chief Compliance Officer will collaboratively partner with the Aspirus General Counsel to keep informed on upcoming and ongoing strategies and system objectives.The Chief Compliance Officer also has contact with medical staff, community leaders, government agencies, and legal advisors to carry out the goals and objectives of a system-wide compliance program. The Chief Compliance Officer provides an objective and independent compliance evaluation of various functional processes which may include issues such as Medicare and Medicaid billing, anti-kickback, fraud and abuse, managed care compliance, anti-trust, labor and employee relations, environmental health and safety matters, various trade practices, and specific issues which may arise. The Chief Compliance Officer reviews and evaluates ethics and compliance issues/concerns within the organization.To further improve communication and collaboration with the Aspirus, Inc. Audit and Compliance Committee, the Chief Compliance Officer will be a regular attendee at their regularly scheduled meetings and will provide necessary updates to the Committee and the Aspirus, Inc. Board as appropriate. In order to provide a clear review process, the President/CEO of Aspirus, Inc. will coordinate with the Audit Committee Chair to facilitate their input on the employee evaluation process.Hours: Full-Time 1.0 FTE - Exempt. Monday - Friday, Occasional Evenings.Experience/Qualifications:
- Knowledge in clinical, financial, and information privacy practices normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting, finance, business, nursing, healthcare management, Health Information Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of three years' experience with corporate compliance in a health-related organization is required.
- Minimum of three years' management or supervisory experience required.
- Auditing experience of healthcare transactions, healthcare billing experience, and knowledge of fraud and abuse practices within the healthcare industry beneficial.
- Certification as a RHIA, RHIT, or CPA beneficial.
- Certification in Healthcare Compliance, Healthcare Privacy, Health Information or Risk Management desired.Employee Benefits
