As our Vice President of Community Relations, you will be an integral part of connecting the credit union to causes that matter to our members, enhancing the quality of life where they live and work. - Implement the giving strategy for the credit union, including budget, priorities and process.
- Meet with nonprofit leaders and Community First members to assess potential fit with their fundraising needs.
- Review incoming requests for event sponsorships, donations, capital needs, or in-kind support and prepare them for consideration by the contributions committee or credit union leadership.
- Manage the Community Relations team and inspire them to achieve their best work.
- Provide direction to Marketing related to approved sponsorships to maximize the credit union's exposure and brand, and lead the Community Relations team to implement logistics for a wide variety of charitable events/programs that engage both members and employees.
- Collaborate with accounting to manage, track, and report on the community relations budget.
- Oversee the employee volunteer program, and recruit and coordinate community volunteers for the Community First Fox Cities Marathon.
- Represent Community First Credit Union at community events as needed.
An ideal candidate for this role will have a combination of:
- Passion for and knowledge of charitable giving and its ability to affect growth for the credit union and create positive change throughout our service region
- 10+ years of experience in charitable giving and/or marketing; preferably a mix of both
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Nonprofit Administration, Communications or related field
- Three+ years of leadership experience over own direct reports
- Strong organization skills and attention to detail with the ability to respond and adapt to multiple competing priorities and deadlines
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
- Knowledge of grant and volunteer management processes and systems
- A flexible schedule for event attendance on some nights and weekends
- Credit union experience a plus
