The ideal candidate will have the experience to effectively oversee external and internal strategies for Savills North America. This role will lead the design and implementation of an integrated communications strategy that leverages multiple channels and platforms aligned to Savills brand and business objectives. Superior management and critical thinking skills, as well as writing and strategic planning skills, are essential in this role. This role will be responsible for a distributed team and ensuring team members' ongoing career growth. The Vice President of Corporate Communications & Engagement will report to the Chief Operating Officer and work with cross-functional teams to establish, refine and reinforce the Savills narrative, with clear, compelling, and consistent messages that support the brand and corporate reputation.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and coach public relations directors and managers on standards, processes, and best practices to have the biggest possible impact
  • Oversees regional PR managers' external communications strategies, ensuring that plans are innovative, flexible and support key business initiatives
  • Leads recurring update meetings with the communications team and key internal stakeholders
  • Prioritizes, synthesizes and coordinates information dissemination to make certain communications are delivered on the right platforms, to the right audiences and at the right time while ensuring different functional and urgent company messages are not competing with one another.
  • Prepares and adheres to budgets, including personnel, agencies, travel and other job-related expenses for communications and PR
  • Partners with senior leaders across the company to drive impactful communications internally and externally, ensuring announcements and thought leadership are relevant, with appropriate voice and tone, and amplify corporate messages
  • Oversees the design and execution of corporate digital communication plans (i.e., social media) to maintain a vibrant and dynamic corporate presence in the digital space
  • Manage external vendors and consultant relationships to ensure quality and productivity.
  • Serving as player/coach to develop, write and/or approve messaging for press releases, media pitches, talking points, media statements, and other communications channels
  • Determines and develops metrics for success for corporate communications, defines measurement plan, and utilizes data and insights from metrics and feedback channels to inform and refine corporate communication and PR strategy

QUALIFCATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS)
  • Minimum of 10 years of related experience
  • Prior commercial real estate brokerage experience strongly preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across the organization at all levels and functions and to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to manage numerous external communications programs involving many components in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Must excel at setting and meeting individual timelines and milestones.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with demonstrated ability to interpret varying circumstances and provide solutions to varying challenges.
  • Ability to effectively respond to sensitive issues, complex inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, supervisor and/or management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability develop and deliver presentations that synthesize complex problems and recommended solutions.
  • Advanced experience in Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.), research techniques, and project management.
