Job Summary

The Greater Chicago Region is looking for an experienced executive to provide overall vision and direction to the Engineering and Construction departments. This leader will have direct responsibility over Engineering and Construction Teams while working with the Central Division team to manage capacity and design work. Also responsible for metric reporting and forecasting, leading the organization through performance and process improvement, and setting overall budget and strategic direction. This position requires close coordination and strong working relationships with other regional functional departments as well as division and headquarters' functional leaders.

Job DescriptionCore Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for developing and planning the strategy and financial operations of Engineering and Construction Departments by creating budgets, providing strategic operational direction, and ensuring organizational effectiveness.
  • Function as chief technical resource to Regional Senior Vice President regarding engineering and construction planning, decision-making, network architecture, and the implementation of new technology-based products and services.
  • Interface with division and corporate technical teams to understand and provide guidance on emerging technical solutions.
  • Partners with the RVP of Technical Operations to ensure that maintenance projects are planned and executed to create the best Customer Experience.
  • Responsible for development and implementation of a long-term engineering strategy in conjunction with Division and Corporate leadership.
  • Monitors compliance with client service standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Develops and promotes a customer-driven service culture.
  • Acts as a champion through continued focus on proactively identifying and addressing processes that are impacting engineering and construction.
  • Drives change transformation and strategy execution to achieve specific business results.
  • Creates business strategy to focus on strengths, competitive advantage, and differentiation. Incorporates broad knowledge to address complex, unusual and critical issues.
  • Develops long-term plans that impact the achievement of business results. Recognizes profitability and revenue potential in business opportunities.
  • Demonstrates leadership versatility.
  • Motivates team leaders to meet goals and deliver projects in a timely fashion.
  • Coaches and develops leaders to drive an engaged, motivated, and innovative culture. Conveys strategies and goals to leaders in an efficient and meaningful way.
  • Ensures that service, governmental and franchise demands are met effectively and efficiently through overseeing the organization and planning of staff and equipment.
  • Creates standards by which staff are selected, developed, evaluated, and motivated in accordance with the EEO policy and appropriate policies and procedures.
  • Ensures that industry standards are consistently met and that technical operations comply with Company, OSHA and other applicable safety programs.
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.

  • Professional Experience & Qualifications:
  • Proven leader of large field organization, able to set direction and culture, work collaboratively, and communicate effectively to all levels in the organization with emphasis on customer facing teammates.
  • Comfortable leading through change and establishing a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Proven ability to deliver consistent results in high volume, daily transactions.
  • Strong cross-functional collaborator.
  • Comfortable with financial budgeting, forecasting and analysis.
  • Comfortable with data analytics and analysis as they are used to understand and improve operational results.

    Bachelor's Degree

    While possessing the stated degree is preferred, Comcast also may consider applicants who hold some combination of coursework and experience, or who have extensive related professional experience.
