Job Summary
The Vice President, Finance & Planning & Analysis (VP FP&A) will play a critical role in driving the financial success. This highly visible position will lead the FP&A function, providing strategic financial guidance and support to senior management across all aspects of the company's operations. The ideal candidate will be a highly analytical and results-oriented leader with a proven track record of success in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain comprehensive financial models and forecasts, including annual budgets, long-range plans, and quarterly forecasts.
- Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide insightful commentary on financial trends and variances.
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis of key business decisions, including M&A, strategic investments, and new product launches.
- Partner closely with senior management across all departments (e.g., R&D, Commercial, Operations) to understand business objectives, provide financial guidance, and support strategic decision-making.
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including investors, analysts, and bankers.
- Lead and mentor a high-performing team of financial analysts.
- Continuously improve financial planning and forecasting processes and systems.
- Implement and maintain best-in-class financial planning and analysis tools and technologies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- 15+ years of progressive experience in financial planning and analysis, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience in the life sciences industry (biotech, pharmaceutical) is highly preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex data and draw insightful conclusions.
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills; experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
